Lot #14: Idyllic Sanctuary for Adventure and Relaxation: La Grange des Écrins

Nestled on the edge of the majestic Dauphine Alps, among the grand scenery and charming wildlife of Écrins National Park in France, there is a beautifully renovated 15th-century farmhouse turned into an idyllic bed and breakfast: La Grange des Écrins.

For five days and four nights, you and three others will stay in the heart of the Champsaur Valley, one of the best-preserved areas in the French Alps.

La Grange des Écrins is in an incredible location, has charming and super-comfortable en suite bedrooms, and is decorated beautifully with a great fusion of wood and stones.

The owners, Meg and Jean, are a truly international couple, fluent in English, Chinese, French, and German. They were once business executives working in China who exchanged their high-powered careers to move to France and open up this B&B from scratch.

La Grange des Écrins is an easy two hour drive from Marseille in Provence and located within the Écrins National Park. You will have easy access to countless outdoor activities including six nearby ski resorts, rock climbing, mountain biking, ziplining, swimming, hiking, water skiing, canoeing, via ferrata, canyoning, rafting, paragliding, high ropes, horse riding, and more!

Jean and Meg will help you organize activities based on your interest. They can even arrange for a tour to a local cheesemaker or family-operated génépi-making business.

And when you return from the day’s adventure, La Grange des Écrins features an outdoor heated swimming pool, an amazing view of the surrounding mountains, outdoor tree houses, multiple courtyard seating spaces, petanque court, ziplines, bars, and a forest spa! La Grange des Écrins will be your sanctuary for relaxation.

In addition, you will enjoy daily breakfasts, and Meg—who is a fantastic cook that creates fusions of French and Asian cuisine using locally sourced produce—will prepare and serve two Michelin-worthy, home-cooked dinners for your group.
