Lot 10: Wine-Paired Dining Fusion: A Persian & Mediterranean Multicultural Experience

Immerse yourself in a delectable dinner for up to 8 guests with this delightful wine-paired dining experience.

Persian and Greek cuisine merge in this marketplace of savory that is guaranteed to satisfy your appetite. The Persian influence infuses spices like saffron, fragrant herbs like tarragon, fenugreek and dill, with the sweet and sour of pomegranate and barberries (not harvested in any other place but Iran). It is then cooked in combination with nuts, dried fruits and a variety of vegetables, lamb, beef and poultry. The greek influence follows in similar fashion with foods such as Dolmas.

It would truly take years to sample all that this infusion has to offer. This well-thought out meal strives to pull from the best, incorporating excellent varieties of lamb and poultry dishes and a top selection of cheeses. It is served family style in the traditional way, which is why it is best enjoyed together with those you are close with.
Wine-Paired Dining Fusion: A Persian & Mediterranean Multicultural Experience

Immerse yourself in a delectable dinner for up to 8 guests with this delightful dining experience. The evening will begin with you and your close friends or family at her Atherton home hosted by INTL alumni parent Parnian Kaboli. You may remember Parnian as Timon Karnezos' mother who attended Silicon Valley International School from 1992 to 1998 in the French immersion program. (Timon is now an accomplished director of engineering at Meta).

The act of stuffing vegetables and leaves with hearty mixtures of meats, herbs, rice and legumes has been practiced for centuries and is believed to originate from the Middle East.

This well-thought out meal strives to pull from the best, incorporating excellent varieties of lamb and poultry dishes and a top selection of cheeses. It is served family style in the traditional way, which is why it is best enjoyed together with those you are close with.

Each course of this delicious meal is also perfectly paired with a wide selection of excellent wine. How excellent? You may have heard that Timon’s wife, Claire Hill, is the owner of her own wine making company and label Claire Hill Wines. Claire worked her first vintage in 2014 at Unti in Dry Creek, Sonoma, before moving to Rhys and Mount Eden in the Santa Cruz Mountains for the 2015-2016 harvest. After this, she embarked to France to work with Éric Texier in the Rhône Valley. News of Claire's quality repertoire of wines has spread among the Bay Area sommeliers and wine communities.

Notable figures such as 2019 sommelier of the year award winner in San Francisco Vinny Eng describes her most popular wine, the 2020 Mourvedre which is made of grapes from Del Barba Vineyard as “the most delicious thing” and “the future of California.”

Her wines are available at many San Francisco restaurants such as A16 San Francisco, Del Popolo, Sorrel, and several others! Claire will be present during the appetizer and dinner to pour and tell the story behind and special aspects of each wine.

Just as Parnian does for her family - you will be nourished. You will be taken care of. You will leave renewed!
