By investing in three key areas, Early Years, Elementary School, and Upper School, we aim to create spaces that are more inspiring, and thoughtfully designed to support how students learn, play, and grow. Each initiative reflects our commitment to providing age-appropriate environments that nurture curiosity, creativity, and well-being.
In the Early Years, children learn best through play. Our outdoor spaces help them build strength, coordination, and confidence while practicing social skills and fostering creativity. Activities like climbing, riding, balancing, and imaginative play support their learning and well-being. This fundraising effort aims to enhance an engaging outdoor environment designed for both gross and fine motor development and meaningful play. By investing in new durable outdoor equipment, we can enhance play experiences that promote children’s growth and create a space where they can move, explore, connect, and thrive.
In Elementary School, we will transform our art room into a bright, functional and inspiring space giving our students opportunity to focus, experiment, and grow into confident artists. Planned improvements include:
Replace fluorescent fixtures with full LED lighting to better showcase color and artistic detail.
Student-facing storage that allows children to independently access materials while giving teachers efficient ways to organize and manage supplies.
Upgraded technology, including a new whiteboard and high-quality projection system, along with additional power outlets, child- and adult-height sinks, and dedicated drying racks will further support hands-on learning.
For the Upper School, Fund-a-Need will prioritize a revitalization of the gym, beginning with a full renovation of the basketball court.
The existing plastic tile surface with perforations will be replaced with high-quality wooden flooring, creating a safer, more consistent playing surface that enhances athletic performance.
The gym’s lighting will also be upgraded to full LED fixtures, improving visibility, energy efficiency, and the overall experience for athletics, performances, and community events.
For the first time ever, the school will also introduce an official INDY the Dragon mascot costume for INTL. This new costume will help build school spirit, strengthen community identity, and bring added excitement to games, assemblies, and school-wide celebrations.
Together, these Fund-a-Need initiatives represent a meaningful investment in the daily experiences of our students, from imaginative play in Early Years, to creative exploration in Elementary School, to a safe, competitive environment and shared pride in Upper School. By improving the environments where learning happens, we strengthen our entire community and ensure that Silicon Valley International School continues to be a place where students of all ages can thrive.
